They and you
Jealously, you pulled them closed.
The grayed blinds separate you from the outside, from them.
They are heavy as lead.
Blue sunshine penetrates through the slits.
Where the French fear the gaze of the Other, the English call them Venetian Blinds,
which almost sounds like an art-historian term
— and Titian sends his regards.
The bars on the border to Mexiko line up vertically like Swedish curtains.
Swedish curtains on the border with Denmark...
I mean, on the EU ́s external borders....
The wall sways in the wind.
On the orange piece of cloth above the wall
is emblazoned a sad sounding farewell. BYE BYE.
